Careers
We hire people who have already done the job.
Avolship is a bench, not a pyramid. Fewer hires, made slowly, and no expectation that you will be managing juniors within a year.
There is no graduate intake, no utilisation target, and nobody sitting on the bench waiting to be sold.
What we look for
- Eight years or more actually doing it
- Not managing people who do it. We staff on what you have built and shipped yourself.
- Depth in one sector before breadth
- We match consultants to engagements on domain fit first and stack fit second, so a specialism is worth more here than a broad CV.
- Comfortable as the most senior person in the room
- Often a room that is not your own, with a client's board in it, on the second week of an engagement.
- Two working languages at least
- Most engagements run in two at once. The bench covers Arabic, French, English, Spanish, German and Mandarin.
How hiring runs
A conversation, not a screen
Forty-five minutes with a partner about what you have actually built, and what went wrong while you were building it.
One piece of real work
A paid half-day on a redacted version of a live problem. No whiteboard puzzles, and we do not ask for free work.
Meet the bench
You spend time with the people you would be staffed alongside. They get a say, and so do you.
Where you would be
The registered office is in Marrakech, but the bench is not built around it. Our consultants are based in Morocco, France, Spain, Belgium and China, and we staff engagements by who is closest to the problem rather than who is closest to a desk. You keep living where you live.
What we will not pretend
Consulting travels. Every engagement involves time on the client site, and some of it sits in cities neither of us would pick for a fortnight.
The upside is that engagements end. We take the squad apart when the outcome lands rather than parking you on an account for three years.
